Do NOT be Afraid to Ask Your Dry Cleaner these Four Questions

Some people are very anxious about asking questions, even at the dry cleaner.  It can be difficult to think of the right words to pose your unique question, especially if you are not a confident person.  So many worries come to mind. What if the person thinks I’m silly for asking?  What if nobody asks that question?  What is the answer is obvious?

Here is some news for you if you are the type of person who lets these thoughts stop you from asking questions:  a dry cleaner is not one to judge.

Here are the types of questions your dry cleaner actually LOVES answering:

1. How’s it going? This one is just for fun, just to be polite.  It is to remind you that your dry cleaner is friendly.  All the staff at a dry cleaner are there to serve your dry cleaning and clothing repair needs. They are totally as human as you are, so don’t be afraid to make conversation.  Don’t be afraid to ask the dry-cleaning questions that weigh heavily on your mind.  You will be glad you did.
2. Do you fix up wedding dresses? For one reason or another, some people are embarrassed to ask about their wedding dresses.  Maybe they think they should already know or that a dry cleaner isn’t the place to bring up the topic, but it is mostly certainly is.  A dry cleaner is more than happy to talk over all things wedding dress with you.  They can help you with same day alterations and wedding dress alterations.  They can help with you just about anything related to that fabulous white gown.  In fact, they even do wedding dress cleanings and preservation to help you out after that big day.
3. Do you hem pants? Hemming pants is a funny topic.  Some people are embarrassed by their bodies because they think that they are too tall or too short. There is no such thing as a perfect body.  Come on, you know that.  Instead, ask the dry cleaner about how to make your pants fit the way they are supposed to.  If you are worried about your pants, ask them, “Do you hem pants?”  The dry cleaner is most certainly able to take on that basic tailoring job, and you won’t have to be embarrassed anymore!
4. What about jackets? While you are on the subject of hemming, you might as well as ask about your jacket, too:  Do you hem jackets?  It isn’t a silly question!  Many dry cleaners who offer alteration services are more than capable when it comes to hemming jackets.  That kind of convenience doesn’t come around much these days, so take advantage!
